Also not considering video editing, that is more like everyone else that’s not a content creator. I always laugh at all the YouTubers that say no way can you switch to a iPad because of video editing. Well 99% of people are not video editors. So I appreciate your view.

A base-model 13 inch iPad Air with Magic Keyboard is $1, 148 USD. A base-model 13 inch MacBook Air can be had for $1099.00 USD. That comes with more storage and RAM compared to the iPad. Unless your work is specific to the iPad, most people will choose the MacBook Air.

i got my m2 ipad air mostly because i work with digital illustrations and my old laptop is not working right and cant run photoshop anymore.
i never owned anything from apple before, im still learning everything it can do and its GREAT news seeing i probably wont need to buy a new laptop anytime soon, just some magic keyboard-ish case - and maaaybe a decent monitor, if needed.

I’ve been using my iPad 4 since it came out as a replacment for my Mac and I can do 90% of the things that I can do on my Mac, I then upgrade to an iPad Pro 13 M4 with 16GB RAM for the power and to truly replace my Macbok M1 but it still misses the mark for me for somthings like running Virtual machines, Video editing film which are not for Youtube and most importantly while you can do coding on an iPad it’s not the same as on a Mac/Laptop. However I am with you for the 90% of the time, for the average user doing average tasks an iPad can be a replacment for most people.

There shortcuts for you to swipe using mouse. I believe it’s cmd and the scroll wheel on the mouse. So you don’t have to use your fingers if it’s on the display.
