People who buy water should watch this. Very true point about bottle water not tested by FDA. Tap water is the way to go. Just get a RO if inclined.

Very scientific!
I appreciate seeing results using scientific instruments!
Thanks for sharing!
Great demonstration as well!

I've not tried all the brands but Smart Water does taste amazingly clean.
I've just ordered a counter top distiller so I'll add magnesium carbonate to increase alkalinity, then a little pink himalayan salt, hopefully it tastes just as good !

I found this video to be very informative and thought-provoking. I have an Apera PC60 tester coming in the mail and will be doing a lot of my own water testing soon. I also have a quality Bausch and Lomb microscope and have been doing microbe analysis on a lot of the water sources around here as well as filtration methods. Very interesting, thx.

Just bc water is acidic, doesn't mean it's bad for your body. Lemon juice is acidic but has an alkalizing effect on the body, just as apple cider vinegar. Distilled water is no different, just make sure to take a mineral supplement in addition to drinking it

TDS is an irrelevant metric and is considered an "aesthetic" appeal.

For those of you who don't know TDS. TDS stands for total dissolved solids and represents the total concentration of dissolved substances in water. TDS is made up of inorganic salts, as well as a small amount of organic matter. Common inorganic salts that can be found in water include calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium, which are all cations, and carbonates, nitrates, bicarbonates, chlorides, and sulfates, which are all anions. Cations are positively charged ions and anions are negatively charged ions.

A higher TDS does not necessarily mean its bad, but that it has a high concentration of minerals with small traces of heavy metals if any.

In the United States, substances that are health-based have Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs, ) and are enforceable by law. However, TDS and other substances that are considered aesthetic are given Secondary Maximum Contaminant Levels (SMCLs, ) but are not enforced, because they do not pose as great a health risk as the primary contaminants do. The United States guideline for TDS is also 500 parts per million.

I make water with 0, 1, 2 TDS.
Simply frez to half, rinse, defrost and drink. Brita clean very little.
Only defrost water make 0, 1, 2 TDS.
Likes it easy and make me feel comfortable.

Where did you purchase your mini filtration system and what brand is it? Great information, thanks for sharing!

I like the voss bottles because of the shape and I store my filtered water in them after I finish drinking :)

Great video other than you didn't follow one rule of science and that is you should have a squirt bottle full of distilled water to spray off your tester between each dip because you're just cross-contamination and it's not accurate but thank you so much for your effort if you want to be Technical and you want to test and get real accurate numbers you need to purify that tester every time you dip in between each dip

Low TDS water is one of the main reason a lot of casualties in USA due to covid19. Water TDS atleast 100 + to develop immunity against illness. In India the water TDS is so high so the survival rates are too high too.

I use Zero Water. When the filter is new and up to an average of 16 gallons if I use water pre-filtered through my refrigerator, I get from 0 to 4 ppm tds. If you have ever tasted rain water, Zero Water tastes just like that. I have found that if the TDS is above 20, my brewed black tea gets really dark, instead of golden brown, and the taste is not as good. Just one reason I take a TDS meter with me when I go and buy water from a vending machine.

Always check the production dates of these waters, Its always etched somewhere very small. Personally I don’t buy them if it was bottled more than 3 months ago. I like Evian the best.

I think a good choice in the USA would be to pick one of the bottles that are readily available and add my own minerals to increase PH. Preferably a pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt. And eat a lot of veggies.

The video would have been more beneficial if equal drops were added to each cup. Some of the cups were 2 and others 3 drops.
