It's a shorter version than most of my lyrical adaptaions, but I was really touched by Bani-chan's piano version of the song, and got inspired to write lyrics for her verison of it!

"Beating with our hearts as one everyone I know is praying" that verse feels me with such confidence and dread at the same time I love undyne and she finally steps up and kills you over and over yet it feels me with dread knowing deep down she cant beat you because in one of those timelines that you keep resetting and making new ones she will not strike you down but you shall strike her down even though she had so many monsters depending on her she had so many lives stacked on her shoulder but you strike down the hero that tried to save everyone for you own curiosity and amusement but hey at least in like 20 timelines she kicked your ass

Chi-Chi, I can't thank you enough for this beautiful composition. In the interests of avoiding getting too sappy about it, I'm disabled and have been bedridden for a long time, and this little tune really renews my resolve now and then. I'm in physical pain all the time after all, so it's easy to make the connection between debilitating health and Undyne fighting to not turn to dust. ^^; It's just a really lovely morale boost sometimes, to keep that mind-over-matter going. Thank you!

The pacing really makes a big impact
After a break, the song starts suddenly, like running immediately after tripping and falling down without bothering to get up: your only thought is to "run" or, in this case, protect. You don't want to die, but protect. It's the only thing on your mind
