I became debt free in February of this year and oh my lord I learned a lot about discipline. My struggle was having to cut back on lifestyle choices as far as my spending habits. However those sacrifices has really helped me learn to save and not live beyond my means. Congrats on being debt free I know that feeling of that weight being lifted off your shoulders. Thank you so much Erin, I really needed this. I was grateful to not have loans from undergrad and had the goal to finish my Master’s that same way. I had to take $7500 in loans this year and literally cried signing the promissory note because it’s something I never wanted to do. Wow. This made me tear up. Especially from the joy you felt when you told your lovely parents. I watch the Dave Ramsey Show and I always tear up when they scream their debt free screams. I graduated with my Masters degree 6 years ago with over $45, 000 in student loans and have only $24, 000 left to pay. I will make a video as well once I am debt free. I paid off that much because I worked extra jobs just to get over the debt.

I really, really enjoy your videos. I am a 54 year old that has squandered her entire life. But while everyone else cried about COVID 19 shut downs - I cried a little, too- I receive a divine reset. I now live more intentionally and have set a goal saving $500K by the time I retire at 72. More importantly, I want to find a way to give back to the community. You are my inspiration.
