Or wash your hair with your head down going in from the nape and working towards the front. I never miss a spot when I wash my hair upside down

I use the silicone scrubber instead now and that helps a lot with my itchy scalp 😊

You are supposed to put your head down (forward) that way your fingertips get to the roots and that is what you are washing, your scalp. You scalp is what gets greasy. No need to separate your hair, just put your head down.

Thank you. I wish more people understood that shampoo is mostly a scalp wash and not a hair wash. For people with long hair it’s mostly about focusing on scalp. Oils come from the scalp. Not hair strands

Don’t use the palms of your hands, use fingertips.

Really the only thing you have to do is make sure to apply the shampoo to your scalp before you sud it up/make it foamy. Making sure to do that to most of your scalp, or the especially oily spots, can help really clean your hair well. I find washing my hair upside down either in the shower or before I shower really has helped with my hair not being so oily. After I wash and condition I will put my hair in a hair towel normally, wash up quick, and then do my skincare after my shower. Then I take my hair down, cause it's fairly damp and apply a hair mist on top to help protect it from excess dirt throughout the day and then I'll comb it out with a wide tooth comb or my fingers (I have fine hair, but there's a lot of it and it's slightly wavy on the ends probably like 2A so I know what I do won't work for everyone). I'll normally do this in the evening or on the weekends so that I have time to air-dry my hair.

On my no wash days I will first comb it out my ends with a wide tooth comb and then work my way up to my scalp before going through it with a fine tooth comb to distribute my oils. Then I apply some dry shampoo to my scalp for extra oil so that it appears not so oily. I typically only have to wash my hair every 3 to 4 days depending on how oily my hair gets. I've got a super oily scalp though.

Love your videos! I’ve tried using a coconut based oil in my hair before wash day and it makes all the difference! Thanks ✨

Thank you.. I have extremely thick, course, curly hair. It’s impossible to reach my scalp to get it really clean. This should help. Can you recommend a shampoo and conditioner for course, ridiculously thick hair? I have a sensitive scalp and my hair never gets oily. I’m going through so much product! Small containers of conditioner are used up in two weeks and nothing seems to soften my hair.

I have to do this because my hair is so long and thick. If I wash it all in one section it gets waxy and oily since I couldn’t rinse all the soap out.

Or just make sure that you’re covering your scalp in product, also use your fingertips

If i clean my scalp too vigorously it causes irritation. I have to be quite gentle.
