THE TRUTH ABOUT HAIR WASHING: EXPERT TIPS REVEALED

It is recommended to wash your hair at least every 72 hours, but ideally every 48 hours. When shampooing, make sure to focus on massaging the shampoo into your scalp using the pads of your fingers. This helps to kill microbials on the scalp and balance the scalp microbiome. Remember to work the shampoo all the way down to the nape of the neck and back to the front, allowing it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing. If you are looking to prevent hair loss, shampooing daily is not necessary. Watch the full video for more tips on maintaining a healthy scalp and hair!

Wasn’t expecting much, but using this red light helmet while watching Netflix at night actually helped my receding hairline. Low effort, surprisingly decent results.

I've Been a Barber and Cosmetologist for 43 years, I've never seen that, or herd that, or studied that....I think people should do what feels best for them.

I workout/jog and sweat like crazy every day. I have a buzz cut. If I don’t wash my hair once a day I get pimples on it and it’s greasy looking, I can even feel the grease on day 2.

Not washing your head only works for people that do nothing on the daily.

It’s crazy how people think the sweat and oils of their scalp is different from their underarms… as much as you need to wash your body you also need to wash your scalp it’s the same skin

Yo, I’m the youngest of four brothers. All three older brothers have thinning hair, and going bald. I’m 35 so if I was gonna go bald, it’d be starting by now. You know what I don’t do very often, is shampoo my head.honestly just water and I shampoo maybe once a month. My experience is entirely opposite of this video, and my healthy hair stays healthy.

I had the opposite problem, I washed my hair more than I needed and my scalp is quite dry, my hair never actually feels dirty. Now that I wash it way less it's thicker and less itchy.

For the black folks that come across this video and say we can't do this with our hair, it's not true. I have 4c hair and I wash my hair virtually everyday.

I use a salicylic acid shampoo that's ok for daily use. I grease my hair and scalp with a sulfur based hair grease only after shampooing.

My scalp cleared 100% and I reversed my alopecia.

This won't work for Black 4C hair.

I used to wash my hair every two days and my hair felt and looked very unhealthy and thin, now I wash my hair once every 9 days or so with cold water only, I don’t even get my hair wet when I take warm showers to avoid drying out my scalp. My hair looks and feels best after a week of it washing it. I also use some expensive oils the day after I wash. Since i started this routine 4 months ago my hair is better than ever.

How often you should shampoo your hair depends on how often you put product in your hair. No product and you shouldn’t shampoo more then once every 4-5 days. On off days you should just wash with water. Many MANY shampoos are horrible for your hair. As well as hair “care” products. So do your own research and read ingredient labels.

I stopped shampooing for a year and then went back to using it every week and a half. Just do what feels best.

Depends on:
1. Hair length
2. Gender
3. Lifestyle
4. Genetics (How oily your hair gets, how often you sweat, the hair itself)
5. How much products you use
6. Everything else that i didnt immediately thought about

If you want your hair to be healthy stop using shampoo. Use only water. The more greasy the hair is the more you increase the temperature. Your hair would be so natural and clean you will feel stupid for every time you used shampoo.
