If you aren’t sure I would go head and shoulders 3-4 times a week. The key is scalp oil. Imagine you shower and never put on lotion your skin will eventually get so ashy to the point of flaking so scalp oil is like lotion for your scalp I suggest it everyday after you brush your teeth.

Fixed my Dry Scalp by cutting my hair short, Mid Fade at the sides and 1.5 inch of hair left at the top. After that, I stopped using shampoo daily and instead used it 2x a week, I used Head and Shoulders and I'm surprisingly fine with it

Fast forward to today, 8months later, my Dry Scalp is gone and my head doesn't itch like a bitch when it's 3 inches or more in length
