The Tenth Doctor's regeneration was the most explosive in all of Doctor Who, but did this contradict canon or provide David Tennant's perfect ending?

Who is your favorite companion in all of Doctor Who?

I always assumed it was a combination of holding back for so long plus all the radiation he absorbed earlier that was killing him. When he regenerated, he not only started the process but also had to expel the radiation from his body.

With the War Doctor retcon, it makes sense that he would visit them all one last time before potentially not being able to regenerate again.

RTD: What do u wanna do with the Tardis in your new Doctor's first scene ever??
Moffat: Blow that s**t up ;-)

It was the doctors last regeneration and he doesn’t want to use his last life
But we didn’t knew this in 3 years time

Buttload of radiation plus he rejected his fate far too long, and was beginning to think of himself above his own edicts about respecting time. So, hubris, imo

It'll be interesting to see what triggers the 14th Doctor's regeneration

Or maybe since RTD was also leaving the show (which he helped *regenerate*) he wanted to go out with a bang!

I’ve long sought an in-universe explanation as to why *all* The Doctor’s regenerations, in the modern era, are so explosive, traumatic and disorienting. We’ve seen other time lords regenerate, quickly adjust, then go about their business. Why not The Doctor?

Amy Pond making a cameo in this made me giggle

I'm just finishing the 10th Doctor. Just found this. What i want to know is why did they write this sort of regeneration? Not the explosions, but the fact he was alone. Part of the entertaining aspect of regeneration is watching the companion or companions react to it.

He's the 14th Doctor just with 10's face not just plain old 10

My theory is the 12th was more accepting of the regen in the end so let it out smoothly.

10th didn't want to but forced himself. Like you wouldn't be able to cut of your arm but if you had to you would try your damn hardest and ultimately your going to hesitate a little as your doing it

Is this really the tenth doctor, the one who refuses to recommend the toothpaste????

For me it all boiled down to his dark angry energy burst forth from him after loosing evryone and after all he'd done as a time lord before making that youthful innocent transition into matt smith...

So in summary, he edged for too long.

O.k so I’m commenting before I watch the video aas I have had a silly thought, is it because it’s like a sneeze he tried to hold in for a while

No, it was because they wanted to destroy the console room and build a new set.

When are you people with screen rent ever going to do a review that's not promoting garbage? Just wondering

Pretty sure it wasn’t a regenerate but a degenerate
