This video shows you how I went about troubleshooting and fixing (safely and professionally) my garage door that was opening only 1-2 inches and then stopping. Is the the chain? Problem with opener or beams? Or something else? I also explain how to open the garage door in the event of an emergency or if you cars are stuck inside. Hope this helps!

I just got done cleaning and lubing all the wheels, cleaned the track, screwdrive and springs, they looked brand new. Sprayed it all down premium silicone and it worked like a charm. Trekked to a neighbors and when I came back I went to close the door and No Joy.

Pulling the shuttle lock the door goes up and down just fine manually. Even better now. And if the sensors were blocked, the door would still go up.

I saw the broken spring right away, and the fix is clear in your case. I have a similar behavior with my current Overhead Door, Legacy Series, opener. I think the spring age is comparable, but no broken spring, and it will work completely if I hit open and close a couple times. Same behavior from the top when it is starting to close. More often it works with no issue. This whole erratic behavior is a recent development. No blinking LEDs that I can find that would indicate a fault of any kind. Any thoughts on what this might be? The belt looks a little limp but not dramatically so. No obvious bracket issues like loose or misaligned hardware. The installation worked flawlessly for possibly 20 years before this nonsense started. It's a 10 ft door (i.e. super heavy), so I've been assuming everything else is comparably matched for heavy duty operation.

Hey thanks for the video, at first I thought I had an issue with sheared or loose bolts on the belt drive shaft area and it was loose so I tightened them up but the problem remained, so I saw this video and then saw that indeed one of the springs had broken.

I am having the same problem with my garage door. What if it's not the spring then what I do. You said there was a code that was given on your garage door but never said what the code was. Do I need to replace the until🤔
I have had this until for about 6 or 7 years

I had my torsion spring replaced..however regardless of the warranty (cycles) I chose it was going to be the same spring they installed. It was just the guarantee I was paying for. Not sure this is the same in your case but definitely be specific and ask that question.
