Principles of Effective Cold Calling:
• This is your Duty
You actually have to realise that this is your duty, an essential mental trick to embrace your sales and marketing career.
Q1)The product that you are building is it truly going to transform your customers lives?
Q2)If they buy it and deploy it will their business be more successful?
Q3)If they don’t do this and stick to the old way of doing this will their business suffer?Are they going to be worse off?
Q4)If their competitors buy your product, will they be at a disadvantage then because they don’t have your product?
Then it is your duty to actually let them know about your product.
Do it because it is your duty to let them know about the strategic advantage that my product brought.
You have to believe that it is your duty to get your product into the hands of your ideal prospects.If you don’t do that they are going to be at a disadvantage.
Look it’s my duty to let you know about this transformation that we can bring to your org.And if you don’t do it and all your competitors do it, then you are going to be at a disadvantage I got to let you know about it.
• No gimmicks:Look to mirror match within the first 5 secs
As soon as someone picks up the call mirror match what they are doing so that you can gain a little bit of compatibility there and communicate more effectively.
• Have a strong opening line:
“Hey I am cold calling you right now.” Because sometime honesty is the best form.
The second thing is that “Look can I just get 27 seconds of your time?”
Then jump into your actual value proposition.
