Can glow in the dark filament be just as hard on your 3d printer nozzle as carbon fiber filament?

OMG I never even thought about that. Too cool! Also awesome to have a company that is so cluey about the filaments they provide. Surprisingly pretty rare!

Nice to know, just got my first role of glow in the dark PLA, printed a small model to test it with. Looks like it'll go back in the box until I get new nozzles. 4 years later and still a great tip.

When you get a new nozzle, just be aware they went with brass for a reason: it's very thermally conductive, it can heat and cool quickly. I have a coated stainless steel nozzle now, and I find I have to set my temperatures higher, because it doesn't heat up as well. It also takes a _long_ time to cool back to room temperature.

Thank you kindly. This glow in the dark PLA was REALLY starting to grind my gears [literally AND figuratively]

Thank you Joel for all of the great informative videos. Ordered my first printer (Ender 3) and between you and Salandar I've learned a ton about filament and maintenance.

Here is one other "interesting" experience that I got with the HK glow in the dark PLA. After printing about 500gr of it I found out that my printer was no longer being able to print ok normal PLA. Not only the nozzle got messed up, but also the extruder gear had a ditch on the point it was using to push the filament. I had to change both the nozzle and the gear to get going again.

Great info. And there is a topic for a future YouTube...Nozzles; what kind(s) for what filaments(s) and for what printer(s). [Digital high 5]

Thanks Joel, I did not know that. Learn something new every day!

Don't think I'd ever have a use for glow in the dark, carbon fibre maybe, but I don't need a room full of ghostly prints! Nozzles are cheap though, so just get a few spares.

I did the same with "Wood Grain" Filament

The Monoprice Select Mini is selling at an amazing rate. Do you think you could do a series of videos focusing on it? Topics like maintenance and changing out parts, nozzles, etc would be awesome.

Thanks for the heads-up Joel. Like most people, I knew CF was damaging, but din't know about the glow.
Wow! That was almost poetic :-)

Just shared this to my buddys on Monoprice Mp Select mini Group on Facebook. Just as a warning. I see some of them printing with this and thought that it would be good to post it. Thanks for the info.
