Fix Your Ender 3 3D Printer

Bad 3D Prints can come from failed PTFE tubing. The nozzle can cook the PTFE and cause filament to stick thus causing bad prints. Remove the PTFE, Cut off the last 20 mm and reinstall. The filament will flow again and you’ll get good 3D prints.

Chep, you taught me a ton when I started with my Ender 3. Now I have a 3D printing business. Cheers.

Always make sure you cut it straight and push it all the way to the bottom.
My prints were crap, so I took the nozzle out, I took the throat tube out, I got some blue PTFE tube, cut to size and greased it. As I was pushing it and pulling it out, I was adding grease. It is a really tight fit. I managed to get it all the way to the bottom of the throat tube, but it took 10 minutes. Perfect prints (professional quality) with zero stringing on my five year old Anet ET4 with (like) 5000 hours of use.
Silly little thing, but made all the difference. I also use Teflon tape on nozzle and throat tube threads to prevent leaking.

I simply used a 30mm piece of Capricorn tube in my hot end where it meets the nozzle because it can handle high temps and the rest of the bowden tube is usual tube. This is how I solved this problem 😃

I love your videos Chuck, thanks for your help

The solution is to stop using a PTFE tube and move to a maintenance-free solution. For instance, using an all-metal hotend with a bimetal heatbreak. Thank me later.

This trick was a game changer when I discovered it. Even Capricorn ptfe will degrigate from heat over time

Interesting! I’ve been having some trouble with my first printer. I bought a used Ender 3 and I just can’t figure out how to print smooth. Going to give this a try tomorrow!

All-metal hot-end solved this issue for me permanently. Good tip though. 👍

It can be hard to ensure in an ender3 v2 that theres no gap between the hotend and the bowden tubing(especially if it burned and the small gap there filled up with filament), any solutions for this?

Hello, my Crealty Ender 3 Pro has never had the firmware updated-I looked at the mainboard “Crealty 3D V1 1.1 “ I tried printing a nut and bolt…printed using Fusion 360 and sliced with CURA version 5.2.1. I did my best to copy your “Magic 2.8 profile” — taking screen shots. My accuracy still suffers. I checked the site you mentioned in your video…I haven’t a clue what I should purchase to update my printer or if I should purchase a new board…thanks for your help. Great vides.

That's what happens when it gets to hot. What you want to do is replace. It with something more heat resistant. To be safe stick with pla and play+. Don't try petg or any form on nylon polymer. straight nylon, glass nylon carbon fiber nylon doesn't matter.even if you're printing firearms pla + is more than sufficient and any external breakages can be fixed for $5. If you do want to use the materials that require a high temperature, you're going to be a full metal hot end with a bimetal tubing.

I have a question about this. How often would you say to do this procedure for the tube??

I have an ender 3 and my z axis keeps moving. My gentry arms are straight, and the nozzle is on tightly so I don’t know what to do. Do you have any tips or suggestions because I am really tired on my prints coming out like crap.

my problem just started. Half way up the print, about 6 inches or so, it goes to crap. I lubed the z rod, replaced the nozzle and the ptfe tube. still have the issue. I had no problem with the previous item... tried reslicing the file too...
