Hey all,

Here is a relatively simple video demonstrating how I use an Alocs alcohol stove (Trangia clone) to prepare a freeze dried hiking meal.

The meal is "Thai Chicken Curry" made by Back Country Cuisine. It's delicious and only requires around 1 cup of water! (220ml on instructions but I make it with 250ml)

The process is pretty simple and the stove is incredibly compact. It's also very quiet, which is a benefit over the "Pocket Rocket" style stoves. The average boil time for 1 cup of water is ~4-6 minutes at sea level.

My Alcohol cooking kit all fits within the pots and consist of:
- Pot and Cup kit
- Alocs stove kit (Stove + Pot stand/wind break)
- Blaze Orange Bic Lighter
- A small 100ml bottle of Metho or I keep fuel in the stove ready to go. (O-ring sealed to avoid evaporation and spillage)
- Plastic cutlery
- Scourer/sponge

I didn't really have much to say during this video so it's a quiet one :-) Enjoy the music!

Cheers,
ASC

I nearly used my own firearm against myself watching this video. Right I'm off to find the paint drying videos to cheer my arse up and invigorate my sense of well being. I am also going to invest in some ear muffs for when I feel like diving into the fiery depths of hell boredom videos next time. Thanks for your efforts in entertaining videos, but please stop. Stop immediately.
