I’m the uk we had the same thing happen with car throttle they went very corporate and limited the budget and content to the point all the presenters left… first auto Alex then the rest one by one now we have 3 great channels who all do videos together and constantly work with people Freddy Tavarish Matt Armstrong and Ben Colins along with Manny more …. Hopefully same thing happens better content no corporate overload lol

something I've noticed is that every time a channel goes corporate it crashes and burns faster than a Boeing 737 Max

$60, 000 in Cali is literally like being broke.

$60k is not a lot of money here in California. I make shy of 60k, and if i wasn’t living with a friend.. I’d be in trouble trying to live

I love donut, and especially love their podcasts. I didn’t mind the ads too much, as i know cars are expensive and maybe that’s where the money is going. The whole corporate things just completely ruins it.

I definitely don't particularly care for the young kid they have on the channel now that was just on the mechanics Fail video

Your Top Gear comparison was dead on. Look at what happened to Top Gear. The BBC shut it down and why? cuz you lost your three personalities that made the show a massive hit around the world. Sure the car stuff is fun but it's more of the backdrop to the personalities that we're really there for and it's the same with donut.

I thought up to speed was pretty funny, but I never subbed because the actual content was amateurish to me. What's interesting to me is that this isn't just a car channel issue or a YouTube issue. This kind of thing is happening in every industry. When people who didn't build something come in and take control, they have no love or passion for it. It becomes an ATM and the smart and talented people leave while the vultures suck the company dry and move on to the next one.

I've been used to not seeing James for the last year. Would anyone really miss him?

James isn’t the same guy in real life all of him was a script written for him and a lot of people says he’s stuck up in real life read the comments on big time

I subbed to them when they had 3000 subs i believe. Up to Speed, Science Garage, Hi-Low, all those good stuff were the things i loved the most abt them and James was the face of it all.

I started to fall out of love from them when Bart left and the new characters had their script written for them to become James' replicas in a sense.

When Jerry & Zach came in, i knew they were gonna be a breath of fresh air for the channel and things went well until they got bought by that company. I noticed the difference in quality, effort & writing right away because they weren't being themselves and did low effort stuff like reaction videos.

Well from his story post today I’m guessing he’s going to big time I think donut will stick around but not have such an impact on me I’ve notice the change in videos

I started watching Donut because of Science Garage, I hated it when Bart left. For me, that was the beginning of the downward turn. James kept me there with Up to Speed. With the current exodus of talent, I am not sure they are going to make it. The group they have now are more like supporting cast. I am not sure they can carry the channel.

To me it always felt like James was off his meds rather than being entertaining.
