Working for Donut Media has been the most incredible experience of our lives. We never thought we'd get to build something that meant so much to us. Something that means so much to so many other people. We gave it our all. We tried our best. We're proud of what we've done in the past 9 years.

It's time to build something new. Something that we love. A thing to be proud of. A thing of our own.

Off topic but ever since 2020 (really it’s always been this way) corporate greed has hit a MASSIVE high
Or rather the effect of it has finally caught up
Countless companies have employees leaving/laid off

And what sucks is that the employees who made what the company is (such as James) have felt so much pressure (or just got laid off) that they feel forced to leave

I’m glad James is doing his own thing but unfortunately many many others don’t get this chance/are as successful/ have a big enough following

And it’s just so sad to see this happen company after company employee after employee in every industry

Going independent is the best option just wish more people could have the ability to actually make it work out without luck or a pre existing following
Because no one deserves to suffer/lose their job because some dude at the top needs even more money on top of the already existing generational wealth they’ve ALREADY amassed

Up to speed isn't coming back, he did one video as an homage/thank you, but that's is, Up to speed is their IP and he cannot use it. Just like all the big catch phrases he had such as Mo Powah Babeh, hrsprs, pop up up and down headlights, etc, they are all property of donut

As someone who fell in love with early Donut, I truly wish everyone the best.

Some will carry on their legacy with their audience and all will continue to build a new audience base.

Donut is dead to those who got into it 5 years ago. There’s always a new audience who doesn’t know our favorite personalities and they may like the new Donut.

It isn’t a binary win/lose. They can all do their own thing and make content people enjoy. The fandom bickering is toxic and unnecessary
