Telling your hallucination to sit on your couch so that its in frame of your cameras is honestly such an interesting interaction.

What terrifies me is how they act like people. The hallucination went and sat on the couch when he told it.
That would really fuck me up.!

The fact that these hallucinations are so vivid they believe some one is actually there

I'm a rideshare driver and picked up a neighbor that I'm friendly with. I realized she was schizophrenic as she talked about really troubling conspiracies against her by our property management, city officials, and others. I believe she has both delusions and visual hallucinations. Or maybe auditory.

Either way, I felt horrible for her. It hit me how exhausting it must be to have schizophrenia.

I'm glad you have tools to help identify hallucinations. I hope you find relief.

I can't even begin to imagine living like this... never knowing or trusting my own reality.

I honestly never realized how terrifying schizophrenia really is.

The worst part is sometimes it isn't as pleasant as this. Sometimes they are vicious and loud. They can talk over you and you can't mute them.

I was diagnosed with schizophrenia 2 years ago & I feel for this guy. Sometimes it’s hard to perceive what’s “real”. From hearing things that aren’t there to seeing things that also aren’t there, but for us the hallucinations feel real. I was given a medication called abilify to help with my hallucinations since I would constantly see shadowy figures around me & hear my name being called from practically nobody, along with other auditory hallucinations. It’s a hard mental illness to deal with tbh. Thanks to anyone who took time to read 😌 hope you all have a blessed one

Man having schizophrenia sounds like an actual nightmare. I feel bad for the people who have to deal with this curse.

I cannot imagine seeing and hearing something all while being able to simultaneously look at your cameras and not see anything. This has to be truly terrifying.

I have many friends with schizophrenia, that shit is not a joke. I was having a sleepover with one of my homies at my place. We were sitting there chilling playing playstation, out of a sudden he starts speaking to what i thought was me. I ask him what are you talking about because what he said was out of pocket, he then said he wasn’t talking to me. I said to him there are no one else in this room and he went “oh well” and kept playing. I really do feel bad for those with schizophrenia and i pray for them.

The way he immediately tried to shut it down in frustration. You can tell how draining what he’s going through is. I’m so sorry bro ❤️

My husband has schizophrenia, he once woke up from a night terror and tried to tell me that someone was in the house (there wasn’t) and swept the whole house for an hour, my sister has it too so I did want I would do for her and I made him feel seen and heard and walked behind him to constantly tell him that there was no one following behind him while he walked around, after he felt bad and apologized but I still think about how much he trusted that I was telling the truth that there wasn’t someone behind him, I love him so much 😊

My uncle eventually hung himself after dealing with bad schizophrenia and honestly, watching it unfold is terrifying to loved ones. He had the 'devil' telling him to do wild stuff and eventually he just went off the rails, even put my brother who was like 4 in the hospital from a kick to the groin. My mother became a psychiatric nurse because of it. I wish you nothing but peace and love bro.

My husband's grandfather was a Vietnam vet he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, ..one night while everyone was sleeping he woke up armed himself with loaded rifle and dragged his 87 yr old wife out of bed firing rounds all through the house at enemy soldiers, ..HE BELIEVED HE WAS BACK IN THE WAR & ALL HE WANTED TO DO WAS SAVE HIS WIFE, ..it was scary & heartbreaking but above all IT WAS DANGEROUS, ..after removing ALL weapons from the home he began to think he was being robbed and became completely paranoid, .so the family made the decision (hard) decision to put him in a facility THEY TRIED ALL THE WAY TIL END

It takes a *ton* of courage to expose oneself like this. There’s a reason why those with mental illness are “tired”. It’s because of the energy spent dealing with the symptoms.

Shizophrenia is such an interestingly terrifying illness. The fact that you not only SEE the hallucinations but also HEAR them is quite insane

A close friend of mine recently opened up to me about his schizophrenia recently. He’s always extremely private about his medical business and I’ve noticed that he startles when nothing is around. It’s gotten to the point where he didn’t think it was a good idea to try and hide it anymore. I wish he had just told me from the start but I’m glad he finally told me. He described what the episodes are like and I could not imagine the stress caused by it. I’m praying for you bro

I grew up with a family that recognized these things, such as visions and voices, as a gift from the Lord, to be blessed with the gifts of “sight” and “sound”.
“I see dead people..” was a real thing back in the day. Now there’s schizophrenia and I bet still, my great gramma would say “it’s just them folks are lonely now quit be scared, let them rest and talk with em. They’ll be gone before too long, they always just passing through!”
