I don't have schizophrenia but oh my god.... I feel so sorry for those diagnosed to this disease. Keep fighting on!

I have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia but I don't hear voices. I would hear whispers but not actual voices. I always saw shadow beings or weird shadowy creatures.

I've had schizoaffective disorder since I was 7 years old and this is pretty accurate but there's two things that haven't been mentioned from this, number one is suddle visual hallucinations, things like shadow people in the corners of rooms and another being stuff like walls closing in on you, the other one is something not really talked about and that's the constant music in your head playing, there's times where I'm completely jamming out to The Offspring only to realize about a minute later that I never put any music on

My brother was diagnosed with psychosis which is caused by Schizophrenia and other disorders but it isn’t just hearing or seeing things. It is living in constant fear. Fear of being abandoned and you feel like you are being watched. You constantly feel insecure. How much you see or hear things depend on how severe you have it. But everyone with schizophrenia lives in constant fear.

For the record, while I appreciate you raising awareness for mental illness, it's worth noting that schizoprenics aren't often violent to others, they are more at risk of harming themselves. I was pretty good friends with a schizophrenic from elementary through high school and we got along fine, she acted just like any other kid really. So don't be scared of schizophrenics, they aren't violent, I've only ever gotten into physical fights with "sane" people.

I have schizophrenia. Although this video isn't 100% accurate, this is very close to me. Thank you for creating this video to show others.

I once dated someone with schizophrenia and this, in itself, makes me feel so bad for her, because her parents didnt believe her for shit. She was 19.

For those of us fortunate enough not to be diagnosed, this felt like a manic episode after a psychedelic trip, and even that couldnt describe it. I can't imagine the anxiety that racks the brain while going through a crisis

The first time I was hospitalized when I was 15 I was diagnosed with schizophrenia because I was having hallucinations and delusional thinking and started self harming while I was at my after school job. Eventually they figured out that I was Bipolar 1 with psychotic features which is just a fancy way to say that sometimes my mania spins up so far that I lose touch with reality and in that case I was in a terrible psychosis. I don't really remember much of what happens during those times but can usually piece things together from what others tell me. I have spent 30 years hating myself because of who I am, I wouldn't wish true mental illness on my worst enemies. I say true because unfortunately it has become en vougue for younger folks to fake illnessess to gain attention for themselves.

It’s like having broken intuition…like being trapped in your own world where everyone has malicious intent and I have to watch my back

Guys, schizophrenia isn't just hearing voices and seeing shit, and as many people also believe, having a split personality.

I have schizophrenia myself, so let me tell you a bit about it.
I do see things, and I rarely hear shit, but that isn't all.
You live in constant fear that people will abandon you, or that they aren't trustworthy.
You constantly feel watched and insecure.

EDIT august 2021
Schizophrenia is a very complex afflictions with many subtypes and related disorders. The symptoms can be extremely diverse even outside or without any classical hallucinations.
If you feel you might be experiencing any symptoms its best to seek a professional that you also feel safe and comfortable with.

My best friend suffers from szchizophrenia and I have to spend a lot of my time trying to keep him calm whenever his voices are too loud. I really needed this Insight to what his life is like so I can get a better understanding of what he's going through. Thanks for making this video.

Not everybody with schizophrenia experiences hallucinations. I have paranoid schizophrenia but I do not have hallucinations. I think that's important to recognize. I know a few years ago, when I thought of schizophrenia I thought of hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not actually there), but I now understand that's not always the case. The mind can be a tool or a weapon.

I was diagnosed with Schizo effective disorder. I don't see hallucinations often but are occasionally there. But the voices I do hear often and is a daily battle. Thank you for a way to help explain some of it to people without having to get it completely into words with them.

I felt extremely ill watching this and the schizophrenia simulator. I can't imagine how people who live with this must feel. You have my empathy and I send you love in the name of Jesus.
