Once I type bcdedit /export d:backup it says. The store export operation has failed the system has attempted to load or restore a file into the registry, but the specified file is not a registry file format.

Now it's stuck on automatic repair for over an hour. Fixed.
At the attrib step it tells me it does not exist.

The explanation was just good untill you reached the command section. You just disappeared??

I have to tell you, thank you! I had gotten the blue screen with a bad config message which then rebooted itself into the black screen with the manufacturer's logo stating the message "preparing automatic repair" and it stuck there. I couldn't get beyond that. Turning the laptop off and on just went through those same steps and left me stuck again at the same screen. I just wanted to be able to get to a System Restore prompt as I am diligent about creating restore points and knew I'd have one to try to fall back on. I had searched online all morning, could not find anything that helped until I came across this video. I followed your step of repeatedly holding down the power key, etc. and after 2-3 times I got to the blue repair options screen and was able to restore the system. Again, thank you very much!! 👌😁👍🎁🥂

Thank you much man 🤗 your fix worked for me.... Just keep in mind that in case you get "access denied" on the "bootrec /fixboot" command then use "bootsect /nt60 sys" command then the "bootrec /fixboot" command. Also after the last command on the list. A question will ask about a boot list, just type "Y" for yes and press enter. Then type "exit" then enter to return to the "Continue to Windows 10". It should restore windows as normal. I'm so glad for this video....Many thanks to The Geek Page

My laptop gave the following after trying your reset options.

"Your PC/Device needs to be repaired
File:\Boot\BCD
Error code:
You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer. "

This sucks!! :(
