I agree with all this. I’ve had boundaries crossed by some friends before with touching me without permission. I’m always happy for hugs if someone asks me for one. It’s the same thing if I was asking someone for a hug and they say no, I’m gonna respect that and I’m not gonna be upset about it. Same thing for content creators and celebrities.

when ever i imagine meeting an 'idol' of mine, i always imagine that i might be the only fan to acknowladge them as an 'idol' and not bother them other than a quick "hello, im a fan of yours! i love your content! have a great day!"

I’ve met one content creator and was as respectful as I could be to them. I was really nervous whenever I saw them in public but I went up to them and VERY AWKWARDLY told them that I love their content, chatted with them, asked if they were okay to get a photo, which they so kindly said yes to. Afterwards I said goodbye, thanked them about a million times and said goodbye. I tried very hard to be respectful and not pushy or anything, as I know that these creators/celebrities deal with a lot already. They were so sweet and so kind, definitely my favorite “celebrity” encounter❤️

Guide to meeting a content creator in a respectful way (in my opinion)

You: *walk up go them and before you ASK for pictures, ask if they are really them so you don’t get mixed up and end with pictures with random people*

*if they say no*
*be kind even though they said no, content creators aren’t just people who make videos, they’re actual people. Please accept that they have boundaries that if crossed can make then uncomfortable.*

*if they say yes*
*Take one picture, THEN ask if you can take a few more in various poses. Don’t just take multiple pictures without permission*

Tips:

I know it may be difficult to not freak out and be excited. But content creators have their own boundaries that cant be crossed by fans. Freaking out and going really fast might make them feel uncomfortable. Example: asking for their number. You’re not the one. Content creators dont give their number to their fans. They never know if the person asking can be someone bad that can leak their number.
