Thats actually my favourite Video on this channel, no hate, no galze just facts and people who dont workout or try to get into Bodybuilding can decide of they wanna be a Bodybuilder, big but unathletic or an athlete, smaller but more athletic. Respect

Sometimes hyertrophy, aka bodybuilding, is functional in athletics, such as after the off-season, or rehab after a surgery. But it's a limited cycle in a broader program of physical fitness.

3:17 Don't kid yourself. There isn't a chance to even become amateur bodybuilder. Bodybuilding is an extreme sport that very few are able to make it to even compete.

Then to say bodybuilders aren't "functional" isn't true. While the focus is on building a balanced physique, even an average bodybuilder is way more functional than the average untrained individual.

I outran a runner despite not training for running. My focus has been strictly on strength and more recently bodybuilding.

What are your thoughts on calisthenics athletes (the ones that do BW high rep strenght-endurance workouts)? What do you think about their training methods, physique, functionality, etc. in comparison to bodybuilders and fighters?

Regarding rep tempo, are you saying that athletes won't lift close to their 1rm because they would not be able to move the weight as explosively? The rep tempo part of this video was kind of confusing to me.

I trained like an athlete. I want overall balance from endurance to speed to strength. Body Builders for me are slow and easy to get exhausted.

I have been going gym for a few months now but my gym only lets 16 year olds use the free weights and i am 15 so I can’t use them and play football so want to train like an athlete. Will using the machines effect my performance massively ?
