For enhanced fuel efficiency, greater driving range and, of course, copious low-end torque it’s hard to beat a diesel. The only problem is the fuel is a bit pricier than gasoline and they require much more after-treatment hardware. While harder to find, you can still buy a variety of new diesel-powered cars and trucks in America today and here are a few worthwhile offerings from automakers such as GMC, Jaguar, Ford, Land Rover and Chevrolet.

Ironically the VW TDI was a fabulous clean and efficient engine it was not as good as they said it was but it was still great .

As an European i think it‘s a shame German brands do not offer Diesel Powertrain in the US. The Touareg V6 3.0 TDI with 286 HP and 600 Nm (443 pf), the X5 and X7 M50d R6 with 400 HP and 760 Nm (561 pf) as well as the SQ7 TDI V8 435 HP and 900 Nm (664 pf) would make much more sense than the gasoline powered alternatives.

Lowering CO2 emissions while having plenty of pulling power (for large and heavy SUVs) I think bringing them back is necessary.

Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪

Diesel is Great. My 2018 Range Rover Sport gets 27.5 Combined All the time. And Diesel is cheaper than Premium gas.

Diesel is kore expensive than petrol in the US? That's strange, in India many buy diesel because it is way cheaper than petrol ( or it was, the gap is now shorter ).

Craig, you are not a heavy man. But you are a loved man. Any content this channel puts out without you is a bust.

Of course, I knew Ford was going to make the top of the list with the F-Series. This list was very well thought out, I must say. 👍👌

You really need to put the specs and number visually in the video, would make it a lot more enjoyable to watch.

You additionally have to refill adblue on a diesel.

The word is uninterested not "disinterested", which means something entirely different.

diesels are like 100 m sprinters but petrol turbo cars with high torque and hp are like 400 m runners who don't run out of umph

Diesel cars (and gasoline) are very good if not the best, they are better than electric cars. Mercedes invented a couple of years ago a 50% fuel efficient gasoline car engine, it's possible to make diesel 50+% efficient with same tech. You don't have to transport around an energy consuming (often half discharged) heavy battery everywhere, when the gas is decreasing in the tank the car becomes lighter and the mileage goes up. You can have reserve fuel in luggage area in case you wanna go on long trip to forest etc (in the forest you can use the gas to cook food, keep yourself warm at night, run a diesel/gas electricity generator etc.). It feels like the car is alive when it uses/breathes/drinks gas and engine-vibration is nice massage and sounds good. The emissions are mostly CO2 which is super beneficial for vegetation and we can thank this gas we are alive today. Emissions are very low too compared to how dirty it is to produce a huge heavy electric battery and then discarding it when it's broken (and compared to overall natural CO2 production). Electric batteries is ok for lightweight short distance small vehicles like bicycles and motorbikes/mopeds.
