I’m a C/O and have been in my position for about 8years and my supervisor calls me into the office and says that they are thinking about switching jobs with me and another employee who has about five years and I have eighteen years and this guy has his life and I have mine, it may be okay for him to go on transport, but I have a tight schedule and my kids and my wife rely on me and I’m inside all day and he’s outside all day

Hello, Mr. White!

I have a related question about commute time for someone like me who has to drive a company vehicle to/from work sites: My boss never made an agreement with the workers about the use of the vehicles and how to compensate us for commuting to/from or traveling between job sites with it. Could he be liable for unpaid wages in these commutes (like to work and from home) under the federal Employee Commuting Flexibility Act? (Note: Travel between jobsites is already paid for.)

I'm aware that courts don't have a set definition about what a "normal commuting area" is in this case, as far as I've found. However, commutes here can range from 20 minutes to 2 hours in one direction, which sounds reasonable to get compensation for?

Hi Vince, what state are you an employment attorney in? I'm in a situation where I disclosed I had an invisible disability and I disclosed this because sometimes, during training, people get annoyed if I ask the same questions. I did not share this for any other reason. However, after I shared that my supervisor and manager are asking me to change my job duties and also my manager asked if I accept that I should be the one asking for this change during my review. It made me uncomfortable that she suggested the change, but she is also suggesting that I ask for the change during my review even though this was not my idea. Also, my place of employment is an at will employer. I declined it the first time. The second time, my supervisor brought it up again, saying that this is a good opportunity for me and that I scheduled a meeting for us three, and I really feel they are trying to convince me to take the change of duties. They are presenting it to me as if I should accept them first, but I am confused as to why they are asking me for this. I asked if I am doing anything wrong, and they said I was doing great!

Ok here’s my issue I am currently working for at will employer, I have been asked to change my job duties. The issue is the decision was made without assessing my work, I’ve only been with the company for a month. If I’m moved to a lesser role can the employer change my compensation rate without notifying me or do they have to notify of this change and if I don’t agree with this change can I use legal action such as an arbitration? Your feedback would be appreciated.

I am an at-will employee. The company is asking me to either move from my parent company to a sister site. I am 15 minutes away from my parents site. The sister site is 25 minutes. Then the company gave me an additional option to applied to a program. I chose to take the program. Yet the company is persistent with transferring me to a sister site. What are my options?
