OH MY GOSH. All those talks about microdrops are just making sense now. They’re small, quiet, ASMR-esque sounds. I’m actually surprised you didn’t mention ASMR in this review like you did in Intermolecular Lullaby lol
I actually gushed a little when I heard Phosphor’s first drop bc I thought it sounded super tiny and cute. I like Phosphor more but you’re right about Micrology being a showcase track. I was super impressed when I first heard it. This single comes to show Chime is one of the most influential dubstep artists of today and is always coming up with something new. Can’t wait to hear more microdrops from him!

Chime has been busy discovering a tiny drop, but this has already been done by Barely Alive. The drop in his Silent Is Golden remix is so tiny you can’t hear it

The thing about these micro drops that it’s kinda like a hit or miss situation, Like I love the idea of it conceptually, But it basically comes down to the stuff around it to help supplement the “drop” itself.

Phospher > micrology personally but it’s a neat A/B to really experiment the idea of the microscopic Drop

You should check out some of Popbots music. The album Iota is about small sounds. It’s kind of similar to this, but it’s lot more experimental.
