How Many Tanks Does Russia Left? Should Ukraine Worry?

Russia's armored forces have suffered significant losses in Ukraine, however, Moscow still has a huge stockpile from the Soviet era, which could be unleashed at any time.

Before the conflict broke out, the Russian army had a total of 2,480 tanks in combat service.

The Russian army has about 6,000-10,000 tanks in reserve. Russia has recently restored the 71st and 72nd Armored Repair Plants dating back to the Soviet era, and kept working 24 hours a day in three shifts. Russia has also ordered 400 new T-90M tanks, which are being produced at the Ural Tank Plant. In May, August and October, the Ural Plant supplied the Russian army with new tanks.

Satellite photos would suggest Russian tanks n storage are largely unfit and some even non-restorable for use. Stored tanks have already ben moved to combat service and lost. The Russians have no real cache of tanks left without expensive, extensive and time consuming restoration of what is left. Both sides have exchanged tanks by capture but the balance is tipped in favor of the Ukrainians overall. At some point more modern Leopard or Abrams will have to be introduced which the U.S. has in large reserve but these too need reconstitution to restore to combat status.

Another good video Dung, why didn't you narrate this time? You mentioned that the T-72 inventories of eastern Europe have already been transferred to Ukraine, where did you find this information. I know that there have been some transfers but I don't know what percentage of the original inventories these represent. Perhaps an assessment of remaining Soviet Weapons systems remaining in Eastern Europe would be a great topic for a future video.
You might want to consider the M-84 Yugoslav T-72), Slovenia is planning to transfer their M-84s to Ukraine. Croatia is a NATO member and looking to replace it's M-84s with western tanks, Bosnia has much of it's M-84 fleet in storage and is a NATO candidate. Kuwait operates both the M-84 and the Abrams. Perhaps Kuwait could provide it's M-84s to Ukraine in exchange for some surplus Abrams or a discount on new build Abrams.

Ukrainian military has not lost 50 percent of their tank force, they lost about 380 tanks while capturing 515 Russian tanks and receiving 390 tanks from NATO. Ukraine is in a tank of 525 tanks since the start of the war. This includes modernized t-72b3 2014, t-80um, t-90a, t-90m, and pt-91. Hell Ukraine has formed two new mechanized tdf brigades out of captured t-80Us alone. I don't know how you came to this conclusion while using oryx, because that is were I got my numbers from. Also you do realize there are still hundreds of t-72m and m-84 tanks left in eastern NATO states to send to Ukraine right.

Russia has puzzled some observers by putting some - hundreds possibly - old T62 tanks. I suspect the explanation is the embargo imposed on Russia, restricting the importation of modern electronic components. The T62 are probably too old to rely on modern electronics.

Russia always funny.
Out of 20000 tanks in the Ukrainian military, Russia has destroyed 6000.
Out of 16 HMARs Russia destroyed 46.

russia probably in reality has a minimum of 30 to 50 tanks in storage for everyone in service! the only real question with their reserves is how fast can they be brought up to service condition and deployed! and attrition warfare on kiev's part will get them fried extra crispy in the end!!!

Russia has lost a lot of tanks? Do they know that Ukraine uses the same tanks as Russia? Not new ones but some Soviet ones? So the large Ukrainian losses they are now calling it Russian Losses... Pathetic

Like more than 100, 000+ available counting old and new, because all they used was old Models T-72 and T-60, only lost 300 tanks. Don't worry, they won't ask you for tanks, they have a lot. Russia is not Ukraine.

Western countries are not willing to give their new moder tanks due to fear of future marketing.
