When I was first starting off, my rainy day fund actually saved me.
I had a fee of like 3.5k that came out of my account because my car broke down, and another thing I can’t remember.

I was making only like 35k at the time and it was a huge blow. But it was the first time ever, that all my savings and not eating out or going to bars etc really paid off. Well worth my two years of saving for that day.

Saving 10% and investing 15% as soon as you get paid is so much easier than waiting until the end of the month and seeing what you have left. Taking it out of what I get right away feels like I'm not missing out but when I tried to do that at the end of the month it always felt so much more difficult and like I just couldn't afford it.
