The straight lead in Jeet Kune Do differs significantly from that in boxing. One of the core principles of JKD is to lead with your strongest weapon—typically the right hand for most people—and to develop that tool to be as fast and powerful as possible. In this video, Sifu Nate breaks down how to throw the perfect straight lead.

WC punches employ center line ‘Jit Sun Kuen’ or straight punches. However if solo employed against an on coming opponent punch it can also be deflected or the power dissipated.

*It would be nice if JKD would be added to competitions, with the limitations of course (no knee, groin kicks or finger jabs). Just to see JKD people out there in UFC, MMA and Karate Combat.*
