Y'all do realize what he's saying is still important right? There's gonna be times where you need to block a shot and a proper block is important. You can't always give up real estate when you're boxing, and you can't just dance all night, that's easier said than done.

Works when you have a boxing glove, but not when you fight bare knuckle

Blocking head punches should be the next last option(last being clinching) and if you do you should immediately counter and/or move to force a reset(unless the punch is that hard).

The best way to block a punch is by compressing your shoulders down and back while extending your neck and chin out as far as you can. That way you can better see what your opponent is doing.

Ali did this especially with the body punctures.
He absorbed so much punishment

My coach would makes us hold bean bad to our face and put a small ball under our chin. You can throw a jab while holding a bean bag to your face with the other hand and vice versa so that you practice never dropping your guard

I learned this eventually. The more you brace for impact the more you feel comfortable

Bruce Lee said fear not the man who has practiced 10, 000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10, 000 times

The harder you press, the more your body will absorb the punch. If you don't press, your head will take all the force instead.

Or open your hand to cover more surface area, make it softer and absorb more impact coz a fist will still hurt.

Everyone in the comment are over wise coaches, everyone just knows everything even though they haven't fought in their lives wow and the real coach in the video doesn't know anything
