Nothing about this distro is new compared to any other Gnome builds. If you feel that taskbar is nice and similar to windows, its called dash to panel extension and can be installed on any other distro with Gnome Desktop Environment. If you want those extra layouts then you can install arcmenu gnome extension. All the softwares which come with the pro version can be installed separately for free.
So please dont be a gullible novice and pay 40$ for the pro version 😅

Brian ..thank you for this..I have been using MX Linux for the past 5 years with no issues what so ever..I use 19.3 there is a MX 20 just out..Also an audio and video version to which i have on another hard drive..Wow the future is bright..take care..:-)

I would be happy to give Linux a go if it would run the windows software I use. For me an operating system is just something to run the programs I need and not crash. There are not versions for what I need though. At the least I need Daz studio and the affinity programs and quite a few other art based things but people have not had much success getting them to work as far as I can tell.

I would happily upgrade to any Linux OS only if they can run my games like Valorant, GTA V, etc. The day Linux supports every game out there, I would have already switched to Linux.

@04:10 no no.. it won't just "give you dark mode basically". It has the most important option EVER, which is AUTOMATIC switching between dark mode and light mode based on sunrise/sunset in the user's location. The theme should be comfortable and easy on the eyes at night and vivid and bright to be readable in bright daylight in the day. Zorin nails this ootb, in Windows there has to be an extra program installed for this if you don't want to manually change your theme twice a day... Thank you

Great video, thank you! I'm still very green when it comes to Linux but it's worth noting that the Linux community is full of extremely hepful and passionate people who are more than willing to assist polite questioning on various forums. I think for me Win10/11 plus a Linux box is the answer long term. This video is a great intro to the possibility.

Thanks, Brian. ZorinOS is very useful if folk have a Nvidia graphics card as there is an option in the installation to install it with Nvidia drivers. Could you do a video on how to run Windows programs using WINE? It looked tricky to me but maybe it isn't. It might encourage others to jump ship to Linux.

Zorin vs Mint, plus a few more beginner friendly distros (like Elementary for example), that would be an interesting video.

Bad idea to jump on a new OS right after it’s come out. Best to stay on W10 as it’s stable now and considering moving in 6-12 months time when proper drivers have been tested and bugs fixed.

I have used versions of Linux since Ubuntu came out. Even way back when, it was not that hard to learn, sort of like learning a new language and just going with the flow by realizing everything you know is wrong. A little advice, this is a Ubuntu-based system. If you want to delve in more, there are other systems like Debian and Arch. Myself, I like Debian, but I won't get sucked into a debate about which is better. It is more of a personal preference.
