Car insurance going up in North Carolina in 2023 and 2024

The cost of covering your car, SUV, or truck is going up in North Carolina. Auto insurance carriers can add 4.5% before the end of this year and another 4.5% in 2024. In total, this is a 9% increase over two years. The insurance industry came to the state asking for a 28% increase.

"Inflation is hurting everyone and causing an increase in car repairs and unfortunately, people's driving habits are driving up the cost of insurance. We've had rings of car thefts all across NC and that plays into it. All of these things add pressure to auto insurance rates," said Mike Causey, NC Insurance Commissioner.

This. Is. Insane. My auto insurance provider, coming up for renewal wants to charge me more than DOUBLE of what I was paying! And no, they are not waiting until after Nov 30 bec mine is up for renewal come 11/18 and it's showing the new jacked-up rate.
~Currently I am shopping around, hoping to find a better rate bec I already know I cannot afford to pay almost 300. per month nor do I even want to EVER pay that much monthly bec yes, it is insane.

All the price of goods and services increased, trying to adjust with inflation, but the salaries donot adjust according to the inflation! Thats pathetic and carelessness of all capitalist companies.
