America's had its own Kinzhal missile back in the '60s!

To be fair to Russia's Kinzhal, however, Skybolt never went into service because emerging ICBMs and SLBMs had many convinced that the days of long-range strategic bombers were at an end.

This video isn't meant to suggest that the Kh47M2 Kinzhal poses no threat — ballistic missiles are extremely fast-moving targets that are difficult to intercept. But it's important to know that the Kinzhal isn't cutting-edge technology. It's just another Russian weapon system that benefits from a great deal of disinformation.

Their state-of-the-art technology is our sixties technology! 😅

Thank you for making the comparison. The US even tossed a minute man ICBM out of a C5 Galaxy in the 70's and it worked! I agree with you that the Kinzhal is nothing special.

Am I the only one who's not impressed by the kinzhal? It's a ballistic missile thats just air launched.

Length vs girth. The age old debate can be found everywhere.

noob, hypersonic mean not only speed but maneuvering too

Wouldn’t the fact Skybolt was first mean Kinzel is Russia’s Skybolt?

Thanks, everyone has mentioned the C-5 dropped Minuteman but very few have spoken about Skybolt or High Virgo and the like.

Why bother with hypersonic missiles when Russia can't even even keep slow ass drones from hitting the Kremlin.

American loves giving it's ordnance badass names, but hey, why not. If it's badass then give it a badass name 😎

GAM-87 is a ballistic missile. It flies into space where it picks up speed and has ballistic trajectory. Khinzal missile flies at altitudes of 1, 5km up to 50km. That's the major difference.

Ouch, the Russian trolls aren’t going to like this. Whenever I bring up the Skybolt in hypersonic missile discussion they all seem to instantly get quiet.

I think if we look back in history we would see that the US is over all 40 to 80 years ahead.. in 2010 the USA and its Allies had over 87% of all MODERN ARMS...

As a aeronautic engineer (not completed yet)
I can't agree the way this guy assumes how easy it is to build hypersonic missile which HITS the target

The US military aren't particularly taken aback by the new weapons produced by its adversaries because they've tried and tested every weapons produced in times of war

Perun has a video out on hypersonic missiles. Lot of good content. I get tired of arguing with vatniks thinking hypersonic missiles and l band radar are either new or impressive.

Wait, is the kinzhal based on stolen american tech from the sixties? That's a lot of similarities.

USA: " Mine is longer"
Russia: "It's the girth that counts"
