The US's Problem with Hypersonic Missiles

Here’s the US’ BIG Problem with China’s new Hypersonic Missile!

A hypersonic missile is any missile that can travel at Mach 5 or higher, or around 3836 mph. Though some missiles, like Russia’s Kh-47M2 Kinzhal, can travel an insane 7672 mph, or Mach 10.

Recently, China has been developing new nuclear-capable hypersonic missiles that orbited the entire world and only missed its target by 20 miles.

Currently, the US does not have the missile defense systems capable of fending off a hypersonic missile, leaving their major cities sitting ducks. To make matters worse, it has no hypersonic missiles of its own!

I think it's safe to say that with a neverending black budget on military spending that we have some pretty nasty weaponry that no one knows about

Its the information age, if you can somehow deny information to other nations you have an advantage. While China and Russia believe that showing off strength is the best deterrent, the US military has had a long history of secrecy when it comes to new weapons. It was two decades after the stealth fighter was developed that we admitted to even having them. Chances are, we do have defenses or hypersonic missiles of our own in the US. That does not mean however that its going to be public knowledge for a very long time... letting the world think we are defenseless means they can't prepare countermeasures.

That is not true. The US has hypersonic weapons. Just none that have been deployed to a battle

So they we are 75 years ahead in technology than the public thinks. We are just fine considering this fact.

The US does not have the capability to defend against this type of missile that is correct - But we have true doubts about the accuracy of the technology. Even with AI the missile is set to miss because it has to weigh between destruction and survival from being shot down. Therefore if it misses its target from trying to maneuver in such a way to survive that would give the United States time to retaliate and unleash its Tomahawk nuclear arsenal on Russia and under three minutes with around 300 tomahawks. There’s a great documentary out there on hypersonic missiles. The UFO that everybody is thinking was a TicTac could very well have in the developing stages of hypersonic missiles by China in 2004
