The Best D-Day Movies

D-Day took place 80 years ago today. One of the most incredible days in human history.

It has always blown my mind, thinking about how a bunch of kids (truly, most were under 20) stormed the beaches up against the evilest empire the world had seen, determined to literally save the world.

My grandfather was a WWII vet who unfortunately passed away this past winter. There are very few WWII veterans left, and it’s important to keep their stories alive! For me, movies are a great way to do that with younger generations so that they understand the impact and importance of this day.

It’s not an easy job, and nobody wants war, but in this case these men were literal superheros saving the world. For those who have sacrificed, served, are currently serving, or have a loved one who has, thank you.

I’ll leave you with this - never stop telling N*zi Punks to F*ck Off. Don’t let the sacrifices these men made go to waste. Don’t let what D-Day stands for, and what democracy and freedom stands for, fall apart. Whether they are openly wearing the uniform or not, these people are still in our midst and we cannot let them ever get to this level of power again.

Bless those who served in WW2. And all the other wars before and since.

Thank you to my Grandpa who served in Korea in the army, my uncle in Vietnam in the army and my cousin in the Marines.

These are great pieces of film cinema and history mentioned. Band of Brothers is a masterpiece.

I am going to sit my son down this weekend to watch Saving Private Ryan. I feel a duty to show him those opening scenes so that he can see the horrors that those brave, brave soldiers faced
