For something a bit more accurate watch The Longest Day. It has subtitles for any French and German language used. Parents need to know that The Longest Day, a black-and-white docu-drama released in 1962, is a predominantly accurate depiction of D-Day, June 6, 1944, when Allied troops invaded German-occupied Europe via the western coast of France. In St Mere-Eglise today there is still a mannequin of an Airborne trooper hanging from the church steeple, he didn't die but was rendered deaf. D Day heralded the worlds largest armada of ships and flights of aircraft never to be repeated.

Incredibly clean, unmarked, vehicles, uniforms and so on. Totally unrealistic.

If anyone is interested in the name of the movie it is Brother's War in 2009. A good follow up could be Battle of Castle Itter where the Wehrmacht, American and French Armies fight against the SS.

I find this kind of film almost amusing. The point always seems to be that the nazis were really quite nice chaps once you got the chance to know them. Of course, the problem was how to survive your first meeting with them in order to find that out. Millions of people never got that far.

It is one of the wurst (yeast intended joke) I’ve seen. The director ought to have told the actors that always facing the camera is old school. The acting was as wooden as my cricket bat. It lacked any dynamism as though they were low on batteries. And the captions didn’t match the dialog largely.
