ChatGPT Removed Bing Search
OpenAI has removed Bing search capabilities from ChatGPT.
Here’s why.
Somebody used ChatGPT to navigate around a paywalled article on Fortune Magazine.
They literally just printed out the article, as confirmed in this tweet from AI Breakfast.
And then OpenAI updated their post on how to use Bing search with ChatGPT to reflect that they’ve temporarily disabled that feature.
And you can see the notice on ChatGPT itself too.
And as of today, it looks like plugins have been disabled as well.
Let’s go there and I’ll show you.
It says no plugins enabled.
Go to the plugins store.
Nothing.
But Bing CoPilot still has access to the internet.
You know, the fact is, there have been hacks posted online for years showing folks how to get around paywalled content.
So this isn’t something new. But it’s new to ChatGPT.
We’ll see how long this takes them to sort it out.
