So a site that is behind a paywall puts out a story saying that Lindelof may be working on a Star Wars project. No one has actually confirmed that. All the other sites reporting on it that I've seen have just said, "The Ankler said ..., " with possibly a side of "we tried to contact someone to confirm this, but no one responded, so it might be true (and ignore that it might also mean it's false because that's how "might" works, but we've got clicks to monetize)."

The next movie should to be done by Favreau & Filoni. The Mandalorian is the best Star Wars since ROTJ and they deserve a shot at the big screen. Hopefully Book of Boba Fett just kinda sorta got away from them

I don’t think we need to continue exploring the Skywalker saga. It’s a neat setting with a TON of untapped angles to explore, we don’t need to keep going to that well.

Maybe this'll be the time they'll start exploring other parts of the Star Wars Universe and Mythos. Time to leave the Skywalker Saga behind and move onto something new.

Disney just don't know when to stop do they. I wouldn't be surprised if the Force is now called the Schwartz and the villian is Darth Helmet.
Would still be less Canon breaking than episode 8 and 9.

personally, i think an animated film based on the swtor or Kotor era would be great, the story is there, the animation would allow for the more spectacular effects to be shown and due to it being so far in the past it would not really affect the "prime" time.

They should focus on independent stories set within the star wars universe. E.g A heist story, a horror story, hey even a Rom-Com coming of age story set on Wobani will work. Just enough with the Skywalkers and their looping sagas.

I'm all for his brand of creative story telling, and I agree with Scott that he will need to space out the narrative over a trilogy to properly establish plots and wrap them up in a way that makes sense in the franchise universe. That being said, I've always felt that Star Wars as a film franchise needs to do away with the whole Episode format; labeling each film as such makes it harder to insert side stories and other films into the cannon that would be accepted by fans as they would eventually find wholes that don't tie in with the rest of the established films.
