The best version would be a 15” MBP 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe i have the funniest reason to choose 14 over 16. I am a web designer, and when designing i like to get the look and feel of doing full screen of the website i'm designing. And 13-14 might be the most common display size when people browsing a website from a laptop. So, for me, its more on a UX reason.

i went with the 16" because the price for 32 gb and 1 tb couldnt be beat and dont regret it at all. The weight is negligable and the bigger screen and better cooling is great. If i need something more portable ill use ipad pro or my phone.

Both are great! If you travel alot by plane and train (as I do) the 14 is far better because it easily opens up and it usable on standard trays, plus its lighter and more portable. Both have 254 pixel screens and specs are similar on both. If you use an external monitor like I do I see very little reason to get a 16 inch. The larger display is gorgeous and extra battery life good too, and slighlty better speaker sound, but at the end of the day it was the weight, size and portability of the 14 inch that sealed the deal for me. I love it!

I wonder if you plan on using a 27" Apple display for the main monitor, will the 14" perform the same as the 16"?

I am a print broker. Professionally I mainly use Adobe Illustrator to fix some files for printing, occasionally Photoshop, otherwise email and management software. Personally I dabble with some music creation and CAD. So lots of power is not important, but screen real-estate is. I also travel every couple of months.
I have been using a 15" Macbook Pro since 2013. It's slow now and needs to be changed. The new 16" Macbook Pro is huge and heavy and more than I need. While the 13" M2 Air has too small of a screen. I was on the cusp of buying a used 16" M1 Pro when I learned that Apple was going to release a 15" Air. Which is perfect. So now I am holding on. I just hope they launch it with the M3 chip.

I was getting 16" M1 Max with 32gb ram & 1TB SSD for 100$ more than 14" M2 Pro with 16gb ram & 1TB SSD... but I went with m2 pro 14" because it had newer chip and it was my first time buying a Mac and I was liking the form factor of 14" more.

For me, I wouldn't even look at the 14." I want and use the screen size.

I really don’t get it why so many youtubers complain about the weight of the 16 inch MBP… i have the M1 MAX model which I carry to school every day including mutliple chargers, my iPad and a few textbooks and don’t even notice it

16" and it's not even close. Too many compromises on the 14" and I really don't mind the size as long was it fits in the backpack, which the 16" does.

I just upgraded from a 2015 MBP and it weighed 0.3lbs lighter. I can really notice the difference in 0.3 pounds and I am kinda irked. the 16 is heavy holding in one hand... kinda wishing I got 14 inch because 15.4 to 14 isn't that big of a difference

I like both: Air M2 (13 for travel) and MacBook Pro M2/M3 16 (powerhouse). The MacBook Pro M2/M3 14-inch if you can afford only one of 'em. ;-) Pretty simple I would say.

14 is too small. 16 is good size because its smaller than most standard 15.4 inch laptop. Just a bit heavier.

If you are a relatively weak person, or a small girl than the 16 inch might feel heavy. Otherwise its not that big of a deal i recommend you see it in person.

The 14 inch is good if you travel a lot and need a smaller footprint and dont need screenspace for your activities, otherwise I still didnt feel it was much lighter than the 16 inch despite 1.6kg vs 2.1 kg because the 14 inch is smaller hence more dense.. so it still has heft to it.

I find it hilarious that people even consider the weight of a 5 pound computer. If you struggle with or think that carrying a 5 pound computer is problematic and you don't have a physical disability please reconsider your life because you are insane! A proper visit to the restroom can cause your actual weight to fluctuate as much as 5 to 7 pounds so a little laptop is nothing. If you have a disability then it is very understandable. But for everyone else WTF! 💻

You totally ignore that the 16" is capable of high power mode. Game changer.

Would you suggest a MBP 16 M1Pro or MBP 14 M2pro. Both in the same configuration: 512 GB, 10 CPU, 16 GPU
Price difference: 200€ for the 16“

Look, Screen, Battery, Speakers, Less thermal throttling because of larger fans and chassis and many more reasons why the 16” is a no brainer.

I got a very good deal purchase yesterday, used one - ( intel) i9 Macbook pro 16", 16GB RAM -> only for 370$ . Love it ❤. Laptop is in very good condition and no problems at all.
I use this while travelling.
No need to spend so much money when the use is most of times browsing & occasional video editing .
It has 4 thunderbolt ports for connecting to external monitor and works super smooth.

And i use regular M2 mac mini 24GB RAM, 512GB SSD for home DESKTOP use with external LG monitor .

No plans to purchase M2 macbook pros as intel macbook pro is already good for my needs during travels 😊
