When Lucy finally got there at the moon and saw the time when she met David in the past when he was more human before and disappeared cause of her illusions. That shit got me in tears. Now shes all alone.

For me the saddest part was definitely when Lucy was on the moon and the little vision of David disappeared. Just the feeling of loss and loneliness in that one scene is actually devastating

I think watching this anime you already know the whole time that the character run themselves to the grave, but you keep on hoping for some twist, but it never happens, and then the song start playing you shut down
