God. Just remembering that bathroom scene still hits me. Both of these plots stand out in my memory but I had completely forgotten that they were in the same episode. I think that says something about how strong they both were.

This was the episode that introduced me to the show, and it's what I show to others.

It's funny, it's silly, it's dark, it's reeeeally dark, and it's got that good sci-fi and fantasy mix. It's also pretty dark. The perfect Rick and Morty episode.

My favorite line from the entire series is when Jerry's second meeseeks asks if he's keeping his shoulders square and the second one says, he's trying!"

this episode was a definite banger for me. however if I was going to introduce someone to this show, I would have gone with "the ricks must be crazy"(broken space car battery episode) because it doesn't hinge on any previously established character relationships and is pretty easy to get into and understand for a person who may not be used to wacky sci fi tropes. maybe you could talk about it.

I mean the fact they're still bringing up Mr. Meeseeks in the show itself kind of re-enforces this whole idea.

I like how insane the show gets. You can’t help but think that’s it’s going to go one way but it always goes in a completely different direction.

I think one of ricks best character moments in the show is when morty comes back from the bathroom and without anything being said by him you understand that Rick is able to immediately know what’s going on and how his attitude changes to making sure morty is ok

The 2 plots in this episode are so good I very often forget they were shown in the same one. I remember making my rick and morty top 10 and was absolutely shocked when I realized that xD Still, it's 2nd to the one and only "Total Rickall".

The Meeseeks episode is my favorite one. I love how Jerry fucks them over so hard because he is just useless and they decide stuff trying to help him, let's just kill him so we can all die. They seem so happy to complete these little tasks, but Jerry has brought out the absolute evil in them you think they wouldn't be capable of. So funny

I recommended this show (the series in general) to my brother-in-law, and he informed me that he's so busy that he doesn't have time for many shows, and especially doesn't have time to watch shows until he gets into them. So he tasked me with picking one Rick and Morty episode that I thought would get him into watching the series, and I ultimately picked this one. He is now a huge Rick and Morty fan, and recently commented on how good of a choice that first episode was. At the time, only seasons 1&2 were out, but I still believe that this is one of the best introductory episodes for a new veiwer

This is the episode I would choose to introduce someone to the show, the pilot is well suited to introducing the show but this shows what it can be so well.
