This is a great series. Thanks for pointing out some red flags - it's definitely good to have these guidelines. Great point about finding out the specific reason for gaps rather than jumping to a conclusion about the person. Cheers!

Dear Linda, thank you for posting such brilliant interview advice. I recently got a confirmed offer for my dream job, and I'm sure part of the reason is due to your fantastic advice and guidance. My heart-felt thanks!

Good video! Having been on the interviewee side recently, I appreciate that you had mentioned to not discount those who have had employment gaps because sometimes those people are the real gem finds! I know for myself, when I was in that situation, I definitely had something to prove and did not want to let anyone or myself down. My employment gap was spent volunteering at a food bank while I was looking for work, which my employer liked because I kept my administrative skills updated this way and was being of service to my community.

I like your way to show your confidence and energy in front of camera, which made me feel inspired!! All your videos are helpful! Do you have recommendations for us how to keep energetic or focus on others because sometime I cannot focus on others when they are talking even being interviewed.I tried to listen to others carefully but still felt hard to totally focus on conversations. Thanks ;)

It's all useful information. However, I can't help but wonder how many employers practice this. I can write a resume, I can get an interview but that's it. I've failed so many times that the stress and doubts from my failures permeates through current interviews. How do I convince an employer I'll be loyal to the company and be a sound investment when I'm convinced from the start that they won't hire me? When it's such a strong conviction that it literally affects my chances and becomes a cycle feeding itself?

This is a good video. The problem, at least living in Ontario Canada. Is that I have often noticed that 'great employees' are overlooked. It's the charismatic ones (point #2) who know how to kiss up to the boss who are held on. I guess it's the key to the organization. Is it a business or little more than a glorified high school.

Point #1 and #3 really are opposites. How can an individual grow if they continue for too many years in a company? Promotion and role change have strict time bound rules, politics and bureaucracy aside, often to grow your career, you have to leave and look for other opportunities IN ORDER TO GROW your experience and skillset. Not all companies are like Google or Amazon where there is a wide variety of technologies and products.

Your notions of a good candidate do sound good, but are not applicable to current job trends, where roles and responsibilities are changing rapidly. Neither they sound based in having the employees' best interests, but rather the company's. And one does not need to come at the cost of the other.

Even this, today even vp or higher managements get people who were jumper all they would want is liking a person vs their capabilities
