Been twice once in June and once in late January. Summer wins for me, but man was it expensive!!!

From all our trips to iceland, early June seems to be the sweet spot.

24 hours of sunlight, lupines in bloom, puffins and arctic foxes are easy to find, sheep and horses are out and about with their newborns, crowds havent really started yet and it not as expensive as the rest of the summer.

For the record, you can see the northern lignts as early as late august and as late as early May. Also there are ice caves you can tour in the summer.

Idk if there should be a season on for northern lights since it’s just the suns solar wind blowing towards earth and earths magnetic field protects the earth and the solar wave hitting the magnetic field is the reason the aura (northern lights) appear in the sky
