Would astigmatism of .75 warrant a Toric monofocal lens implant? I've read that leaving small amounts of uncorrected astigmatism can result in a minor added benefit of better intermediate vision with a monofocal implant- true? I'm getting my Panoptix explanted in about 10 days to a monofocal but not opting for toric just to minimize any further issues. TY

I had high mixed astigmatism, but after cataract surgery, I haven't it any more 😊

Yeah…complications after eye surgery are ALWAYS presented as “minimal”…until it happens to YOU. I have far too many friends across a broad path of the US who are terribly unhappy with the end product of their surgery….not so much with vision acuity but with continued tearing, scratchy eyes, blurring and burning long after the surgery is finished.
I have astigmatism, severe dry eye, presbyopia and myopia…and I think I’m screwed when it comes to cataract surgery. I totally ABSOLUTELY do not want surgery to bring new pain and suffering into my life…but I don’t have much hope that cataract surgery is going to help…especially since I don’t have $4000 to $8000 extra for premium lenses over the Medicare payment allotment. Nor do I think they would work. Sorry for this rant - just terribly frustrated with this whole process..already been to two doctors who showed little or no interest in my concerns but sure were pushing all the fancy elective procedures.😟
