Bootstrap 5 Alpha has been released and a lot of people have asked me if they should learn it or use it. I address that in this video

What do you think? Is it worth learning Bootstrap or any CSS framework in 2020? As I said in the video, it's easy enough to learn, v5 has some improvements, so it doesn't hurt. Just be sure to learn CSS first

I also want to make it clear, for just about everything that I said, you can replace Bootstrap with Tailwind, Materialize or anything else :)

Also, link to the hat (a few people have asked)

The thing with bootstrap is, the more you use it, the more you want your sites to look less bootstrapy..

Good to see you Brad!
Today I learned that there is such a thing as a CSS Framework. This is just too much I wouldn't blame anyone who gets confused.

I agree with Brad, learn the fundamentals of your craft first, you can pretty much do everything once you understand those. No shortcuts.

You're a inspiration for me...
I created my own channel inspired by what I learned from you, I started my learning by taking your courses on Udemy, then I moved on to others, but it was with you that I took my important initial steps.
Today I also share what I know for free on my channel.
Thank you!!
Thank you!!

I just hit 50% completion on your html css course on udemy. It really helped me out with css. I've always struggled with it but now can make a responsive site with floats. I am currently rewatching the flex box section over and over like I did with the css. I will use some bootstrap in the future but not much. I really enjoy using css. Thanks for all your vids!

I did exactly as you said. Learned HTML and CSS first, then learned Bootstrap back in 2011 when it came out. Then learned how to customize it to make it not look so Bootstrappy but I like it because it takes care of a lot of small things that are often overlooked. Over the years they've added a lot of nice time-saving features to it. It is also nice for when you have multiple devs and have some standardizing in your processes and the frameworks and tools that you use to serve your clients. Some people hate it but to each their own. Just another tool of many to use, IMO.

Brad is back with a discussion video. I hope that you are starting to feel well now. Content creation really requires dedication and consistency as well which I am sometimes not able to maintain due to strict work routine and times. But I am still going at a pace that suits my routine.
I am inspired by the consistency of Net Ninja & the dedication and the value that Traversy Media brings. Kudos man and take care :)

It's definitely worth learning. It's a tool you can have on hand to mock things up, or put together beautiful interfaces for internal tools at a company. The other thing is that it's not really so much a "learn" if you already have a grasp on HTML CSS. A large part of bootstrap is knowing what classes to write where. That's a solid return on the time investment. I wouldn't use it for a customer-facing final product unless I was on a major time crunch, but anything short of that, I'd probably use it
