I used to work on the beach in my town pedal boats, canoes etc.
there was also a diving raft on the beach (well in the water duh) at low tide the raft was either completely dry on the beach or in only 1/2-1 ft water so many kids used to walk to it and sit/sunbathe on it.
All good but the incoming tide would often catch the unaware out leaving some kids/people stuck on the raft some non swimmers.
I would jump into our smaller tow boat and pop over and pick the unsuspecting people up.
Reason for stating this I am 12 years older than my wife who when she was 5 I rescued off the raft.
We didn’t remember until I was talking to my father one day about working on the beach and he said “yeah but you was always rushing off to play hero on the diving raft”.
My wife sat down and said about her experience being stuck on the raft panicking as she couldn’t swim and being rescued.

Another crazy coincidence is that The 2nd President John Adams and the 3rd President Thomas Jefferson died on the same day, July 4, 1826. Just a few hours apart? And the 5th President James Monroe died on July 4, 1831. 🤯All were Founding Fathers.
