What about that guy from Japan who survived both nuclear bombs? Tsutomu Yamaguchi is his name, you can find his story easily.

'Both mean "unsinkable"'? What?... No... They both just mean "Huge" or "powerful." Which... yeah... good name for a big ass ship. And a lot of the other things mentioned were common troubles that ocean liners had to face. April was ice season in the North Atlantic, and 400ish miles off the coast of Newfoundland is a common place to run into them because that's where ocean currents tended to carry them away from the Artic ice sheets and across Atlantic shipping lanes. Not having enough life boats was also very common as they were meant more to ferry passengers from a stricken ship to a rescue ship than they were used as rescue flotation. It was not uncommon for people to feel safer staying on the sinking ship than to be in a lifeboat in rough seas. Not hard to predict that a ship caught in icy seas might be S.O.L. for a rescue. As for stbd side vs port side, that's a coin flip. Will give him credit for guessing the size of the ship.
