Always wanted to make custom PSU cables but didn't know how? This instruction will show you how to do it, and pay less than pre-made sets.

Custom sleeved cables are the cherry on top of the cake that our custom PC build is. Of course you can buy custom set of cables or extensions and call it a day but if you have free time on your hands and you love doing things on your own, creating own custom PSU cables will give a nice personal touch to your build.

In this video ill come over few important aspects of creating custom sleeved cables, ill be showing how to sleeve few cables, not entire PSU, hopefully its enough for you to catch what it is about and how to do it. Also, in my video you can learn how to to custom PSU cables without using any shrink tubes, this method is not that popular but it creates very good and nicely looking cables and is perfect for making thick AWG16 cables.

Tools/Materials highlight:
- Sleeving - instead of using some "special" sleeving sold by PC modding shops I choose... standard Paracord. It comes in many colours, its available in large quantities in military shops and outlets and its very durable. Once you pull out the "core" you can freely slide your cable inside it and it fits on AWG18 and AWG16 cables very well
- Cables - most of PSU manufacturers use AWG18 cables, i choose AWG16 cables for extra thickness which makes it easier to train them (keep shape), as for the brand, we want a cables with basic certificates made according to some standard to ensure their quality, i choose HELUKABEL UL1007 AWG16 wires but you might need to choose some local alternatives (tho the UL1007 is international standard)
- Connectors/terminals - these depend on what cables are you doing, for full PSU cable replacement you will need ATX24 plugs, EPS12 and PCIE GPU plugs (they are different, pay attention to shape of pins) and terminals which are called Mini-Fit Jr Female (official molex name). For making sata power cables, the terminals often come with the plug itself

Basic step by step instructions:
- Cut the cable to size (not too short but not too long, depends on what case you use)
- Attach terminal on 1st end (leave other empty as it will be sleeving entry point)
- Cut sleeving to size (about 3-5 cm longer than cable to account for stretching)
- Put the sleeving on cable
- Use self tightening knot to secure sleeve on terminal end
- Cut sleeving to size
- Expose wire and attach 2nd terminal
- Secure sleeving on 2nd end with self tightening knot
- Insert terminals to plugs
- Repeat for every cable

Feel free to ask questions under video if you want to know more about this mod, sleeving cables, RGB's, streaming or PC building and ill be happy to help. And of course if you enjoyed video: like, share and subscribe!

Sweet, I've got to trim a bit off the top of the connectors that go into the top of my video cards and didn't want to show heat shrink that would normally be hidden by the connectors. This is perfect for that.
