The biggest recomendation I feel linus should have gave for nice clean cable managment is ensure that your PSU is a modular one. Trying to find places to hide the large amount of extra cables on a non-modular power supply can be rather difficult.

$380 for custom cables. Christ. That's like $80 more than my computer.

I'll file this in the list of things I'll never do again because major part swap/rebuilds become hell when tightly/neatly cable tying everything

seems like a decent amount of work, I think I'll just keep the bulge in the back of my case

I just stuffed my cables on the bottom of the case, I was struggling so hard trying to make it look neat that by the end of it I was just ok with it running lmao

In a world where it's getting increasingly difficult to detect cash for comment, I just want to thank LTT for being very explicit in their sponsored content and trying to be as balanced as they can while still satisfying their sponsor. If only we can all be so satisfied.

One thing to watch out for if you are routing behind the motherboard, or any time you're removing a motherboard, is to keep in mind that motherboard standoffs can sometimes unscrew instead of the actual motherboard screws. This happened to me recently.
I was removing the mobo, and unscrewing the mobo screws and one of them felt a little bit weird but I just kept unscrewing. Then suddenly I heard a "crack" and realised that the standoff had been turning under the motherboard and it was bending the motherboard as it lifted up!
Thankfully my mobo seems to be fine, but I think I was lucky.

Proper cable management will also help keep your cables intact, especially if you take the side panels off and on frequently. If a cable is properly tucked away, there's less chance of either bending it in a way it shouldn't be bent, or closing the case onto a stray cable!

Just went and bought a large bag of zip-ties, and will be doing some cable management myself (or at least double checking the cable management on my custom built system) as soon as I have access to my desktop again.

Do not put cables behind MOTHERBOARD. I repeat, do not put cables behind MOTHERBOARD. Those solder joints will poke a hole through them, sooner than later.
