wow a tutorial that actually explains the task at hand with clear step by step instructions and takes the time to answer "why we do it this way"? is this real life? subbed and liked, i know this was probably not a short process for you kudos on being so detailed in such a lengthy project! Im going to attempt my own extension with nylon sleeves and i feel a little better about doing it correctly now. The heat shrink idea was probably the most helpful, i probably would have fought with the sleeve to push it into the large crimp section of the pin to secure it (and probably ruin the overall look).

excellent, I've been sleeving pretty long cables every now and then for years and have always struggled with the sleeving itself rippling apart, that "tapering" trick is something I didn't know and seems to work great!! thanks!
