Octopus Home Mini Live Power In Home Assistant

Excellent, thanks for the heads up. I had an Octopus Mini turn up out of the blue a couple of months ago and had it up and running 30 seconds after watching your earlier video. Already had the Octopus Energy API integration but that install pre-dated the mini and not sure the Mini functionality was even available then. Have gone back and ticked the all important "I have a mini" box and hey presto, all working. In the 10 minutes I've had the "live" consumption available in HA it seems to match exactly with the numbers coming from the hybrid inverters CT clamp so good to know they agree with each other. Now a case of seeing which updates the stats

Another great video of an excellent integration. I've had a Home Mini for several months so it is useful to bring this data into HA. It even shows my OctoPoints total!
EDIT - Sadly it doesn't cope with Go Faster pricing 😢

Wouldn’t you get the same information from your inverter and I know you use the Hildebrand Glow. I find Glow even better now as it supports Agile. I really want to get the Agile current price from the Glow as it knows what it is. I can then put it in my dashboard

Thanks, really useful to point me in the right direction. I'm quite new to HA, but have the Glowmarkt device working using MQTT. Do you think it might be better than the home mini? I think I get updates around every 10 seconds.

Mines just solid green light. I live on the second floor and the meter is on the ground floor but the engineer said it wouldn’t be an issue. What’s your thoughts on this?

Hi. I'm a little confused about which entities I should use to populate the "Energy" section of HA using Octopus Mini. I can't seem to find one that inputs what I "export" (solar) on the "Electricity Meter Export" device and although demand goes negative on the "Electricity Meter" device I can't use that either (it won't recognise it). Any help appreciated!!

Just wondering why you set the gauge minimum to -8000 rather than 0? It clearly wasn't registering a minus number when drawing from battery or solar, plus 2000 seems really low for the maximum.

Do you get it to actually show export? Mine sits rock solid on zero when I'm exporting. I only get information the following day on the 'export previous accumulative' (so clearly the data is going there somewhere!)

I’ve got a Home Mini. Does anyone know how to work out my average so I can set the low, medium and high useage on my gauge? I don’t have any solar panels or batteries or anything.

Hi there, I was wondering as I have the old SMETS1 meter and have not got a mini could this work without collecting data from meters ( I know will not be live) but hope to maybe get the same or more data than the IHD with HA
