Forget to mention that a country cannot join NATO that has regional conflicts. That's why Russia has everywhere a foot in the door.

Poland's Lech Kaczyński in August 2008 traveled to Tbilisi together with the presidents of Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to show solidarity with Georgia in the face of Russia's invasion of that country, according to accounts by officials.

He said at the time: "Today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine, the day after tomorrow the Baltic states, and then, perhaps, the time will come for my country, Poland."

Just came back from Georgia (and Armenia) yesterday to my hometown Vienna, Austria, and saw Johnny Harris dropping this video today. Awesome. During the last 10 days, I have been traveling through the whole country and have seen people fighting so desperately for the liberties we in the West so often take for granted. My deepest respect for the bravery and the willingness of the Georgian people. Austria and Europe are with you❤🇦🇹🇪🇺

As a Ukrainian, I regret that I did not pay enough attention during the occupation of Georgia. You have done an incredible job of telling the world about this period of history ✊.

Either you fight for your freedom like Ukraine, or you become subjugated like Belarus.

Your choice, Georgia.

Okay, memo to myself: Don't bother reading the comments in the first hour, it's so full with AI generated comments about some investment scam, so annoying 🙄

This is Russia's MO, create frozen conflict until the world forgets and then it becomes the status quo. This was the goal in Moldova in 1992, in Ukraine in 2014 and its the MO in 2024. Frozen conflict gives Russia immense leverage. Moldova/Transdnistria was the dress rehearsal for Georgia.

But in other news, can confirm Georgia is an amazing place. Ancient culture, great wine (therefore great brandy), 1200 year old churches. Just beautiful.

Got to spend some time in Georgia last year and the graffiti on the streets of Tbilisi definitely made their stance with Russia clear

One of the reasons we have the Ukraine war, is because we never stood up to Putin when he started acting like a modern day emperor. We allowed him to do as he pleased with places like Georgia. And when i say, "We" i mean the international community not just America.
