I studied chamber music with Berl at Peabody in the 70s and whenever he played the first violin part instead of the student it was a revelation. Later on I studied with his first wife, Shirley Trepel, at Rice University. Both of them were fabulous musicians.

He coached me in chamber music while I was at Peabody Conservatory and never a finer musician have I ever met nor worked with in my long career since. Berl Senofsky was a blessing amongst all us musicians and his artistry and musicianship deserves to be honored in every way possible. God bless this man for what he did for music and the musical art. His memory and expertise will always hold a special place in every note I continue to play for the rest of my life.
